Autumn Series Goes to the Wire!

A great day to be on the water - all smiles on Flair II! The PY fleet head downwindFoxed2 chases Wildfire at the windward markYour faithful team on the committee boat

These photos from Iain Jones on the safety boat show another interesting day's racing taking place in great conditions last Sunday - better in fact than much of the summer! The wind died right away after nearly two hours, leaving the IRC yachts drifting across the finish line together, with Draig O'r Mor winning on corrected time, putting her level with Wildfire and Foxed2 on 8 points and making next Sunday's race critical for all three boats.

The PY fleet were luckier, finishing a lap earlier before the wind died, with Bill Barker's Flair 2 beating Ricky Bruton's Effusion by just over a minute on corrected time. In both fleets racing continues to be very close, with one wrong call on the breeze or a slow kite launch making all the difference.
