Commodore Kathy Claydon welcomed club members to the annual Commodore's Punch party, with the added thrill of selecting the cover photo for next year's handbook.
As the wind whistled around the rigging of boats hauled out into the yard and the rain rattled against the Georgian sash windows of the club house, Kathy dished out seasonal goodwill in the shape of a hot toddy.
Meanwhile Chris Hogg was displaying a selection of entries for the handbook competition; such was the quality of the photography this year that Chris had the unenviable task of preselecting pictures that would scan well and those that could be presented in portrait mode.
Also in attendance was Cordie Tett, whom some of our YOBs would know as Mrs Giffen, the former deputy head of Holy Trinity school before taking up headship of English Schools Abroad. Cordie has agreed to manage the bar for the club as a volunteer with her husband Ken.
Winning entry by a small margin was Iain Jones's picture of Vernon and Sheila Taylor's Squib 'Hussy' beating back to the committee boat with the White Horse on Osmington hill in the background.
