A Big Success

Barts Bash Auction
Saturday night an Auction was held at Weymouth Sailing Club to raise funds for Barts Bash. With 80 tickets pre-booked we knew we were in for a good night. The evening kicked off with a fantastic BBQ full of meat, salad and all things yummy. There was a whole table of cakes which were supplied by various club members for those attending to delve into!

The evening consisted of a written auction with items varying from babysitting to sailing with some of the Olympic and Paralympic British sailing team. The Auction item that raised the most money was an offer from Tim Anderton from the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation offering some race training with a top bid of £140 from a club member
There was also a raffle and various fete tables, with prizes including sailing kit, wine, and a teddy. The night was a not only a HUGE success with members and guests filling the club house and having a good night but it also raised £1380 –How great is that?

A few thank you’s… Thank you to Philip Samways for donating all the BBQ food and salad and Daphne Samways for cooking for a few hours as well! Helen Rollinson for supplying a whole tray of her amazing award winning Double chocolate brownie for ‘Guess the Weight’. Caroline Stevenson and Katherine Samways for organising some fete tables. And to the following who have donated their time to the Auction Promises of things that money cannot buy.
