This Saturday 27th September marks the end of the summer season and the start of the autumn season. The Phillipson Cup and Open Pursuit were won by Dave McCune on the Squib Inky Finger in 2013.
The trophy, first awarded in 1933, was presented to the club by the then Commodore of Parkstone Sailing Club, E.A. Phillipson, and the event was originally a race to bring together every sailing boat at the club in a celebration of the past season's sailing, at the moment when racing insurance generally expired for the year.
In 2014 we still use the race to mark the end of the summer season and start of the autumn season, using the "Pursuit Race" format. All classes from the club and neighbouring clubs are invited to take part.

Cheers
