Weymouth Sailing Club members have dug deep to help out local lifesavers on the Weymouth lifeboat.
Committee members of WSC learnt that the RNLI's local fundraising teams BBQ had been condemned and were without a BBQ to help with their fund raising to sustain the Weymouth lifeboats.
After consulting with Lifeboat Management Chair Tony Beeson and Weymouth's coxswain Andrew Sargent a replacement unit was identified. Weymouth Sailing Club raise monies throughout the year with various fundraising events for their neighbours on Nothe Parade and with over £2000 in the kitty this was recognised as an ideal tool to help continue their good work.
A handover of the professional range was carried out recently with members of WSC and the crew of Weymouth's lifeboat's present.
Lifeboat operations manager John Harvey thanked WSC commodore Kathy Claydon for the BBQ and praised WSC for its continued support of the local RNLI station.
