Walk two of the strangely titled Squib Walks was completed last Sunday. You dont have to have or sail a Squib and its more of a ramble than a walk.
More importantly it always ends at a pub!
Caroline Nairn, the pack leader had as normal arranged through here 'special contact' warm sunny weather.
The willing victims had gathered for a walk around Puddletown Woods outside the Blue Vinny pub, and after donning suitable clothing and footwear set off.
The first part of the walk took us past corralled horses and grazing ruminants whilst ignoring the odd noisey dog, before making it to the woods. Skirting the edge of this forestry commision managed woodland we eventually made it to Rhododendron Mile which curiously is 1.3 miles long and not a Rhododendron was to be seen.
Taking to the tracks and dodging mountain biking groups we started to re trace our steps back to the pub.
It was a little after opening time for we had trekked a little over four miles but our gallant crew were now ready for the next challenge, Youngs bitter and a roast dinner.
The next walk will be on Sunday 22nd March starting at the Scott Arms at Kingston to take in the Purbecks.
