Weymouth Sailing Club has now acquired a Club Squib, Artful Dodger, available for use by suitably qualified Club members.
The purpose of the Club Squib is threefold:
To provide Club-sponsored sailing and training opportunities open to all members.
To encourage and promote one-design National Squib racing at WSC.
To encourage new Squib sailors into the fleet at WSC.
Although available for use for all sailing activities, Artful Dodger (773) is a competitive racing boat, one of a small batch of a 12 Squibs built by Barker Brewer Boats in the mid-1990s. This batch of highly successful boats includes a two-time National Championship winner and the successful WSC club boats, Longshot and Quantum.
To use the Club Squib, members must be Authorised Users, approved by the Club Squib Administrators (Patrick Jones, Jim Mitchell, Iain Jones and Jim Chalmers). There is an online booking system and a small voluntary charge is invited as a contribution towards maintenance costs.
If you need further information, please ask one of the Club Squib Administrators or any of the regular Squib sailors. If you wish to become an Authorised User and sail Artful Dodger, click on the Book the Club National Squib box on the homepage and follow the instructions.
