Our first winter evening with the YOBs was spent at the Coastguard Head Quarters. 21 youngsters visited the Head Quarters and were treated to a very informative and educational tour of all the equipment used. Tom Wright was given the job of tour guide on behalf of the Coastguard and managed to answer all questions thrown at him.
Tom with the help of Mark Fagg, who is a member of the Wyke Regis Coast team set up a 999 call devised by the YOBs as an exercise so our YOBs could see what's involved in emergencies. Having known Tom for many years, it was a bit strange having Tom taking charge of the YOBs as a grown-up, I bet he still goes to work on his skate board! Lets hope this is not the last time we visit our local Coastguard, it is a long way to take them to Southampton and it will not have the personal touch Weymouth did.
