AGM Notes for 2011

WSC held its 92nd AGM on Saturday 3rd December with Jeremy Rees stepping up as vice commodore after Steve Fraser's decision to step down.

During the A.G.M. Commodore Mark Bugler reported the previous years achievements thanking the many members who volunteered their time to make it all happen.

He also pointed out that the year on year increase in membership bodes well for the future of the club.

Mark commented on how pleased he was to see this season the YOB's competing in their own boats on equal terms with the adults in regular club races.

Jeremy or Jez as he prefers, was elected the Club's new Vice Commodore and is pictured below receiving his burgee from the Commodore.

Jez will be taking over as W.S.C. Commodore at the next A.G.M. in December 2012 when Mark stands down after his three year term of office.

Jez is the co-owner of a Laser 28 "Farr Out" and is a keen IRC racer and occasional OK sailor. He will play a pivotal role in the running of the club next year when we are heavily involved in the sailing Olympics and will be at the helm for the clubs centenary celebrations in 2013.

Ray and Lyn Cap were also voted in as house commodores/house secretaries, a rather unsexy side to the club, yet one of the most important.

This ends the seasons rounds of AGM's with Andy Young taking charge of the Dinghy's, Alan McDine continues as Squib class captain and Steve Dadd the cruisers.

Iain Jones, Irene Robinson, Phil Ashworth, Nick Frampton, Peter Jacobs and Mick Keen were elected onto the general committee.
