As you know, I quite often get excited by iPhone apps, but this one really is special. Written by a sailor - James Eddison (of iGrib fame) - Boatie is beautifully presented and has a ton of useful features on navigation, weather, tides, tidal streams and reference information.
It saved our bacon this weekend as we couldn't find the West Lepe buoy during the JOG Yarmouth race and the app handily lists all the 2012 Solent racing marks. It costs £4.99 from the App Store. More info at http://www.mojoso.co.uk/boatie/
