Autumn Series continues in great conditions!

Tumbarumba closehauled in W4-5It's much easier downwind!

Yet again Sunday proved to be an excellent morning's racing, with a gusty W5 providing an interesting guessing game on the inshore beat to O mark. An excellent course from Jim Chalmers allowed boats to choose their own path back upwind from M, leaving out Z; as it happened, the right-hand side tended to pay more and more, though careful covering was needed to make sure no-one found a little something others didn't.

Steve Brackley driving 'Wildfire' was quick off the mark to take and maintain an early lead, though closely followed by 'Foxed2', 'Draig O'r Mor' and 'Excalibur'. The results were in roughly that order, though with 'Farr Out' and the Sigmas 'Scoline' and Snow Goose' squeezing in front of 'Excalibur. 'Draig O'r Mor's disqualification following the protests about the famous 'rafting' incident means that 'Wildfire' now leads the series from 'Foxed2' by only one point.

In the PY class over the same course Ricky Bruton's 'Effusion' won with a 2.5 minute lead on corrected time from Nick Massey's 'Tumbarumba'.

These photos are courtesy of Justin, bow/cameraman on 'Foxed2'; you may well ask how on earth he finds the time to take snaps on the way round the course, but Justin is just full of energy - just so long as he's not hungry, which isn't often!
