Emma Stevenson ruled the waves at this years YOB prize giving, walking off with 9 race cups and Cadet Of The Year. (writes Phil Samways)
Within the Cadets she broke all of our records and became the first to take Cadet Of The Year two years running. She has competition though, with Cory Ronayne picking up four race cups and Top Boy award. Emma and Cory were the only two to be awarded race cups. We have other youngsters who missed out on racing cups, that I am sure they will start making it harder for Emma and Cory next year.
23 cups were awarded in total with our new Commodore Kathy Clayton presenting for the first time.
It was a full house at the club with more adults and other family turning out to watch the presentation than YOB members.
Alice Perrett and Emma Stevenson both stood for Class Captain and Alice was voted in on the night by YOB members.
After the prizes there was a Disco with 'DJ' Chris Hogg who managed to keep the YOBs dancing for the rest of the night, well after the buffet (which was lovingly produced by Daphne and Michelle Samways) and the raffle. The raffle raised an astonishing £126 which funded the evenings proceedings.
Thanks to every one who helped with the evening and Chris remember, date for your diary, you are booked for next year (first Friday in January).
We must thank Peter and Katherine Jacobs for all the work they put in to getting the cups ready.
