You Too Can Smell Like A Dead Fish - Getting the Race Marks In

Woody manoeuvres expertly alongside the last mark'Jones the Mark' This is where it starts to get mucky! It's got to be down there somewhere...

Thanks as always to Woody's generosity, we were able to take advantage of a lovely morning on Saturday to go round the bay getting the marks in.

These days it is a very straightforward task, with the ample and safe aft deck of 'RW2' to work from and store marks on, and Woody's expert skippering bringing us alongside each mark, even if our boathooking skills still need developing - I found myself at one point hanging on to a 'boathook extension' which usually goes by the name of Andy Young! Once the chain, mussels, weed, line and buoy are aboard, everyone is soaked and ponging, but it gets the job done - without which there would be no racing in the bay.

Big thanks to Iain and the team - Euan, Tim, Dave, Nick, Andy - and of course Woody!
