Squib Walk at Wareham

Twenty one members joined Sunday’s walk led by Caroline Nairn on the first nice day for weeks, the sun shone and the black clouds avoided us.
We walked round Wareham’s Saxon earth ramparts and visited a mill to see the flood waters foaming past. An attempt at a circular walk downstream from Wareham was blocked by floods at the appropriately named Swineham Point. It was here that Iain, bravely forging forward in his wellies, found the edge of a dyke and disappeared. No one had the presence of mind to take a photo. Not wishing to follow, we turned back and made for the pub for a very welcome drink and bowl of soup.
