Sailing Across Oceans at the Cruiser Class Dinner, Saturday March 8th, 2014

How many waves go to make up an ocean? You will need to bring a copy of the Atlantic chart for your voyage.

To open our 101st season we obviously need to build on our Centenary, and so the theme of this year's dinner is 'The Atlantic'. Our guests are Adrian Bugler and Jane Olliff, who braved that ocean last year, and (weather permitting!) Thierry Lacour and Anne Mataguez from Cherbourg Yacht Club - Thierry will be joining Louis-Marie Dussère on his famous 'Raging Bee' for a double-handed transatlantic race later this year, and naturally we want to support this venture of our French sister club.

You can join in the racing experience yourself without getting too wet, by racing your table all the way to America in our very own transatlantic quiz on the night! The modest entry fee for such a challenge will be £2 per crew member, payable on the night, and a trophy and prizes will be awarded to the winning table! You will also need to produce a copy of the Atlantic chart for your table to be allowed on the start line.

The dress code is whatever you feel suits this important opening race of the season – there will also be a prize for the most interestingly dressed crew!

Start time: 1900 for 1930 hours

Atlantic Menu   Crew Victualling Sheet

Cost: £22.95 per head. Please complete your Crew Victualling Sheet and send it to the club, together with your cheque, in a clearly marked envelope by Wednesday 5th March.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Steve Fraser - Cruiser Class Captain
Steve Homan-Berry - Vice Captain
