Cherbourg Rally – Update

View of the old YCC looking west towards Chantereyne beach top rightAnother view of YCC's original premises and moorings in the avant-port - note the sculling in the foreground!

We have been offered the use of J pontoon at the west end of the marina, near the Capitainerie, which is very convenient for the Yacht Club as well. Remember to have your current membership card with you in order to claim your 20% discount on mooring fees.

The only fixed event for which I need to know numbers is the wine-tasting at Normandie Wine on Avenue Carnot at 1200 local time on Saturday. If you have not already told me you want to join us, I will not have included you: I need to tell them how many on Thursday before we leave.

I have today been told that the motor boat trip round the Grande Rade, which members enjoyed last year, will be available after all, at a special rate. This and any other arrangements can be made on Friday evening in the bar at the Yacht Club. We will be the guests of YCC at the barbecue on Sunday, so you don't need to do anything except be there! The idea is that people leave some time late morning when they're ready – if you want to accompany a local boat, we can arrange that on Friday evening as well.

We will probably meet on Thursday night here at the club after racing anyway, so if you have questions you can ask them at that point.
