Weymouth Sailing Clubs annual beer festival is on track to reach the £500 target it set itself to raise for Chesil Sailability.
With ten ales, all brewed locally, from Lyme Regis Brewery in the West of the county to Six Penny brewery in the East, there is something for everyones palate.
If beer is not your thing, there is a great selection of ciders from Portland Bill to Old Harry Rocks.
The monies were raised by selling sponsorship on the barrels of beer at £50 each to local companies. WSC Commodore Euan McNair said “ we are extremely greatful to the local businesses who have dug deep to support the beer festival and in particular Chesil Sailability”
The annual beer festival is held at the sailing clubs HQ on Nothe Parade which raises monies for local charities. Last year it was Weymouth Lifeboat who benefitted from a year long fund raising effort that ammassed nearly £2000.
Hugh De Iongh chair of Chesil Sailability expressed his gratitude to WSC and said that the monies raised would support the charity in its quest to make sailing for the disabled a reality in South Dorset
Tickets are still available for the beer festival which starts on Friday evening, Six nations rugby will also be shown live on the big screens, plus locally made pasties will be available.
