Peter Hopford has presented a cheque for £400 from Weymouth Sailing Club to The Chesil Trust. The cheque was accepted on behalf of The Chesil Trust by John Harvey.  The money was raised during the 2009 National Squib Championships held at Weymouth Sailing Club in July by asking the Squib sailors for donations for the free coffee and tea provided during the week.  The coffee and tea were donated by Clipper Teas.

Besides the cheque from the club, there were ones from Cleeves Palmer of Palmers Brewery and Chris Scally of Dorset County Council.

The Chesil Trust exists to enable young or disabled people to experience and enjoy the thrills of sailing.  http://www.chesiltrust.org.uk/  It was represented by Nichola Lane, Jeremy Pope and John Tweed as well as John Harvey.   Sail Laser and Weymouth Outdoor Education Centre, the organisations that carry out sail training on behalf of the trust, were also represented at the presentation.
