Mark meets the YOBs
Mark Bugler had his first official duty as Club Commodore on Friday the 8th January giving out the trophies at the 3rd YOBs prize giving party.
There was a good turn out of youngsters and their owners, which was surprising considering the freezing conditions .
The evening started with the Prize presentation with 14 cups and trophies to be presented, including new awards many of which have been through the skilled hands of Peter Jacobs, who mounted and varnished the bases of our new trophies.
Tom Rees and Merrick Rayner managed three cups each with Tom pointing out after, that it was his crewing skills that helped Merrick win one of them. Yes - our Yobs are growing up competitive, just like the rest of us, next I'm sure they will be discussing handicaps!.
The Cadet of the Year cup went to Katherine Samways for the amount of hard work she put in this year both on and of the water.
The Yobs voted for a new Cadet Captain, with four standing for the position this was also won by Katherine. Well done to her and well done to all that put themselves forward for election.
This was all followed by a disco, food and a very large raffle.
We thank everyone who helped, Daphne, Michelle, Irene and Tracy on food. Stuart for setting up the disco and the room. Steve and Chris not only helping to set up but ran the disco for the evening. I'm sure they enjoyed the music picked by the youngsters!
Also all the people generously donated amazing raffle prizes specially O'Three.
