Beach themed Squib class dinner
Sixty six Squibbers and friends enjoyed their beach themed dinner on Saturday 15 March 2008. Bunting and tables laid out with buckets, spades and flags gave a summer seaside feel to the evening.
Class Captain Simon Vines awarded prizes to the fleet for their activities during the 2007 season and presented a framed picture of 'Hussy' to past fleet Captain Vernon Taylor for his work over the past 3 seasons. The Thomson trophy for the most improved boat was won by National Champions Mike and Penny Fenwick. Mike showed everyone the trophy that he won at last year's championships. John Thomson told the fleet about the new Great Circle Trophy Race which is planned for 2008 and donated the new trophy that he has made to the class.

Entertainment for the evening was a nautical quiz provided by Caroline Nairn and Vernon Taylor, following the beach theme, with a lively game of 'Boaty! Boaty!'.
Simon Vines thanked the galley staff for providing an excellent meal and Deo McDine for organising the very successful evening.
